African Honeymoon
November 1968 - May 1969

Our route took us across the Straits of Gibralter, then south over the Atlas Mountains into the Sahara Desert taking the central route to Niger, then Nigeria where the Biafran War proved a problem, onwards to Centeral African Republic and the Congo to East Africa. The Volkswagon died permenantly there.  We travelled on with others to South Africa, the journey taking one year all up.
